Engineering Little Blueprints Summer Camp

35 students participated in our summer camp with five pre-service teachers Three SOE faculty members, one K-12 teacher, and all the administrative team was on board for a great week.

The students participated in hands-on STEM activities in a multitude of areas.

As the past-president of LACTE, the Louisiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, Dr. Myra Lovett was honored to represent our state’s teacher preparation programs at AACTE’s Washington Week- Day on the Hill, joining teacher preparation leaders from across the country to support educators and the students they serve.

Dr. Leigh Ann Moore successfully completed her Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction. She successfully defended her capstone research, Determining the Impact of a Collegiate Corequisite Model on Student Success at a Community College: A Practical Action Research Study, with support from her committee: Dr. Myra Lovett, Dr. Amy Weems, & Dr. Ashley Schulte. Congratulations, Dr. Moore!

Congratulations to our very own educator extraordinaire, Dr Jessica McAllister. She completed her doctorate this May while coordinating our MAT program and teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses. We are so proud of you!

Her dissertation was titled, A Phenomenological Study of Middle School Teachers’ Perspectives for State-Mandated Trauma-Informed Best Practice.
