I’m tired of posting sad news. That being said, I’m happy to share this great story about Carson Liedel. He signed last year to play for Auburn University. How is Carson connected with our class you may ask? He is the grandson of the late John Seals and Robyn (Harris) Seals. Carson has a great story and we wish him much success at Auburn!

This new yacht-rock style song by Keith Urban featuring Michael McDonald gives me all the feels especially because we just lost two more classmates bringing us, sadly to 96. “We Go Back” should make you think of our high school days. As promised, here is Greg Cronenwett’s formal obituary. It makes me incredibly sad to post this as Greg was so sweet and such a good son to his parents. This is the second classmate we have lost in two weeks. Be kind like Greg and be thankful for the little things and each day we can enjoy.

Class of 1973, it is with a very heavy heart that I have to inform you that our classmate, Greg Cronenwett, was killed in a single vehicle car accident on Sunday, July 5th. When the formal obituary is available, I will post.

I was made aware by Kim Montz Diven that our classmate, Jan (Bammel) Harris, who was living in Florida, passed away April 16th. If anyone locates an obituary, I will gladly post it, but so far, there is nothing available. May she Rest in Peace.

Thursday night, our fellow 1973 classmate, Mike Gaynier, received the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Michigan Crossroads Council of Scouting America. No one is more deserving than Mike who tirelessly gives back to the community that he was born and raised in. He and Wendy, both are advocates for programs at Monroe High School, and their church to name a few. They are always in the shadows, behind the scenes, and never wanting recognition. Mike never forgets where he came from and has proven this by serving this community with his business, raising his family here and continuing to live in Monroe. This award was long overdue. Congratulations, Mike!

Our class treasurer and great friend, Sue Wells was inducted into the mParks Hall of Fame last night. This is LONG overdue and a great honor for someone who has worked tirelessly in this field her entire career. From personal experiences in Oakland County, I know what she has done to improve the lives of the citizens of Oakland County. And to think it may have all started at Camp Tawanka!
