With the beginning of trimester 3 this week, our 9th grade class has begun some wonderful out of school, place-based learning twice a week at the Knabusch Math & Science Center, Monroe, MI. This wonderful opportunity will provide students with many hands-on learning experiences with nature. Students will be able to earn credits in Environmental Science and English while experiencing hands on projects based on learning standards, mindfulness, healthy outdoor habits and team building.
This week students were introduced to the Center, made air quality strips and hung them outside to collect data, learned about our earth’s land / ocean / fresh water surfaces, and thoroughly enjoyed hiking and exploring the nature trail.
