Beautiful day to fly this morning! Enjoying the last few weeks of sunny days before the chill. Despite the weather, we will still be training!!! Our MCCC students are doing an amazing job. Stay tuned for more classes that we will be offering as well as our big Women’s event with a whole bunch of cool training for free!!

The sky isn’t always as predictable as it looks.

For pilots, understanding the atmosphere is just as important as understanding the aircraft. Weather conditions can change quickly with altitude, location, and time of day, which is why pilots learn to read the signs and make informed decisions before and during every flight.

Weather knowledge is a key part of becoming a confident pilot. From interpreting forecasts to understanding wind patterns and recognizing changing conditions, knowing what’s happening above you helps pilots prepare for what they may encounter along the way.

Every flight starts somewhere.

From pre-flight preparations and aircraft sitting on the ramp to the moment the wheels leave the ground, there’s something special about seeing aviation up close. Whether you’re a student working toward your first solo, an experienced pilot building hours, or someone who simply loves airplanes, every day at the airport brings a new opportunity to learn, explore, and get closer to the sky.

There’s a lot more that goes into flying than simply taking off and landing. Pilots are constantly checking weather, monitoring aircraft performance, communicating with air traffic control, navigating, and making decisions to keep every flight safe.

Aviation Fact: Before every flight, pilots perform a pre-flight inspection of the aircraft. They check important items such as the wings, control surfaces, tires, fuel, oil, and other components to make sure the aircraft is ready and safe for flight. Even experienced pilots never skip this important step!

At Monroe Aviation, we believe that becoming a pilot is about more than learning how to fly, it’s about developing confidence, responsibility, knowledge, and a genuine appreciation for aviation.
