UW–Madison Extension is putting on a free Manure Composting Management Field Day on August 5 at the Lancaster Ag Research Station. Topics include:

✅ Siting considerations, regulations, and cost-share opportunities
✅ W**d seed destruction and herbicide carryover in composted manure
✅ Forage hygiene when using composted manure
✅ Effects on soil health, plus a farmer experience discussion

Extension will host three field days throughout the state in August, focused on feeding high-oleic soybeans to dairy cows.

The events will feature a morning with expert presentations from University of Wisconsin Extension and Industry presenters, Q&A with dairy farmers and their advisors who are feeding high oleic soybeans, and lunch. This will be followed by an afternoon on farm with interactive activities.
