A ✨PERFECT✨ start for Monroe City FBLA!
Our chapter earned every point of the 2026–2027 Summer Starter!

Our officer team completed every activity, by developing our Program of Work and budget, inviting new and returning members, and creating ways to keep members connected and involved throughout the year.

We’re proud of the work they’ve put in to start the year and excited to keep working toward another National Gold Champion Chapter banner!

Day 6--Our final day at the 2026 FBLA National Leadership Conference was a long day of travel. While we're returning home tired, we're also returning home proud of everything our members accomplished this week.

Monroe City FBLA was recognized as a National Gold Champion Chapter and was also honored with the prestigious Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit, a national recognition reserved for local chapters nominated by their State Adviser.

We are incredibly proud of Reese Flick, Ashley Studer, Paisley Weldon, Keaton Sapp and Nick Lauber for representing Monroe City and Marion County with professionalism and hard work on the national stage. They embraced every opportunity to learn by attending workshops, observing final-round competitions, networking with members from across the country, and bringing home new ideas and leadership skills that will make their chapters even stronger. In fact, they're already talking about next year's competitions!

None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our parents, school, community, and the MCR-1 Education Foundation. Thank you for believing in our students and investing in opportunities that allow them to learn, grow, and represent our communities on the national stage.

San Antonio, you've been amazing. Now it's time to start preparing for another great year of Monroe City FBLA! 🖤💛

Day 5 was "Experience San Antonio Day" on the FBLA National Leadership Conference schedule, and our members took full advantage of the opportunity to explore the city!

The day began with a visit to the historic Alamo, where our members learned more about one of Texas' most famous landmarks. From there, we enjoyed a stop for ice cream, explored the shops along the River Walk, grabbed lunch at Johnny Rockets, and squeezed in a little more shopping before heading back to the hotel.

The day concluded with the Awards of Excellence Ceremony, recognizing the nation's top FBLA competitors.

A huge congratulations goes out to our fellow District 7 chapter, Palmyra High School, on earning 5th Place in Banking & Financial Services! We are proud to celebrate your outstanding national accomplishment and the success of District 7 on the national stage.

It was a great day of making memories together and celebrating Missouri FBLA members from Missouri before wrapping up an incredible week at the 2026 National Leadership Conference. 🖤💛

Day 4 Recap – Learning, Networking, and Exploring San Antonio

Although our members didn't advance to the finals this year, they made the most of the opportunity by getting up early to observe as many final round competitions as possible. Watching some of the nation's top competitors gave them new ideas, inspiration, and plenty of notes to take home as they begin preparing for next year's competitions.

Networking and pin trading continued throughout the day, and our members were excited to finally track down some of the pins they had been hoping to add to their collections!

That evening, we took a break from the convention center to enjoy dinner at The Alamo Biscuit Company before experiencing one of San Antonio's most beautiful attractions—a guided River Walk cruise. Along the way, we learned about the city's rich history while taking in the beautiful scenery. It was the perfect way to relax after several busy days at the National Leadership Conference, and it quickly became one of our members' favorite experiences of the trip. 🖤💛

Day 3 Recap – Competition Day!

Mrs. Crider was up extra early to serve as a Competitive Event Coordinator for a High School competition, overseeing events throughout the morning and afternoon.

The first Monroe City competitors of the day were our Supply Chain Management team: Reese Flick, Ashley Studer, and Paisley Weldon. Later that morning, Nick Lauber represented Marion County in Graphic Design.

Between competitions, our members attended additional leadership workshops, continued networking with FBLA members from across the country, and added even more pins to their collections.

One of the highlights of the day came during the Central Region Rally, where Monroe City FBLA was recognized as a National Gold Chapter—an incredible honor that reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire chapter throughout the year! To make the moment even more special, our chapter also received the Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit. Chapters must be nominated by their state adviser for this prestigious national recognition, making it an honor we are incredibly proud to receive.

Late in the afternoon, Keaton Sapp took the stage for his preliminary round in Introduction to Business Presentation, wrapping up Monroe City's competition schedule for the day.

After a busy day at the convention center, we enjoyed a relaxing evening with a stroll along the River Walk before ending the night with dinner at Margaritaville. 🖤💛

Day 2 Recap – The Official Start of NLC!

Day 2 was a full day from start to finish!

The morning kicked off with giant Texas-shaped waffles before everyone headed to leadership workshops.

After the workshops, we returned to the hotel for a picnic lunch and presentation practice. While Mrs. Crider worked with our competitors to prepare for their events, Mrs. Weldon served as a Competitive Event Coordinator for a Middle School competition throughout the afternoon and evening.

During the afternoon, our members explored the College & Career Fair at the convention center. One of the biggest highlights of the day was pin trading! They had a blast meeting FBLA members from across the country, trading Missouri pins, and making new friends along the way. They also enjoyed catching up with fellow District 7 Officer Matthew, Missouri FBLA's newly elected State Vice President of Communication.

Everyone reunited for the Opening Session, joining more than 16,000 FBLA members, advisers, and guests as the 2026 National Leadership Conference officially got underway. We also heard an inspiring keynote from Jared Ebersole, FBLA alumnus and CEO and co-founder of Lectec. Jared shared how a hobby and a passion for building things grew into a successful business. Even after being turned down the first time he applied to Shark Tank, he refused to take no for an answer. His determination eventually earned him a spot on the show and helped launch his company to new heights. It was a great reminder that sometimes the biggest opportunities come after your first "no." 🖤💛
