🍴 Did You Know? Pierpont Culinary & Pastry Students Become Members of the American Culinary Federation!

One of the many benefits of enrolling in Pierpont's ACF-accredited Associate of Applied Science programs in Culinary Arts and Pastry & Baking Arts is that our students become members of the American Culinary Federation (ACF).

What does that mean?

Our next chapter event is our Summer Picnic on Sunday, August 16, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at Wiley Newbold's home in Morgantown. It's a casual afternoon to meet fellow students, professional chefs, educators, and chapter members while enjoying great food and conversation.

Feel free to bring a camping chair and, if you'd like, a side dish or dessert to share.

What an incredible week for our Pierpont Community & Technical College Food Service Management program!

Assistant Professor of Culinary Sara Feltz, Program Coordinator Natalie Feltz, and students Shonetta Cottingham, Braylon Anderson, and Lillian Tate recently attended the American Culinary Federation National Convention in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Throughout the conference, our students immersed themselves in professional development, educational workshops, and networking opportunities with chefs and industry professionals from across the country. They explored emerging culinary trends, learned from nationally recognized experts, and gained valuable insights that will help shape their future careers.

Of course, learning didn't stop in the classroom! The group also had the opportunity to experience the vibrant culinary scene in Grand Rapids, sampling a variety of cuisines while exploring everything the city had to offer.

Experiences like these are invaluable, allowing our students to build confidence, expand their professional network, and see firsthand the many opportunities available within the culinary industry.

We are so proud of these students for representing Pierpont with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a passion for lifelong learning. Thank you to the American Culinary Federation for another outstanding conference, we're excited to bring new ideas and inspiration back to our classrooms and kitchens!
