AI is creating an entirely new category of digital evidence.

When most people think about AI investigations, they focus on the content that the AI produces.

But what about the interaction itself?

What was the user trying to accomplish? What prompts were entered? How did those prompts evolve? What responses were returned? And what evidence of that entire process remains behind on a device?

These are the questions driving our latest AI Forensics research and training initiatives at Spyder Forensics.

We're excited to announce that we've recently completed two new forensic utilities:

AI Image Fingerprint Analysis
Helping investigators examine AI-generated and AI-assisted images for metadata, digital fingerprints, and other forensic indicators.

AI Conversation Reconstruction
Reconstructing AI interactions from platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude to help investigators visualize prompts, responses, refinements, and conversation flow.

These tools were developed to support our growing AI Forensics Training Program and to help investigators better understand the artifacts created through human-AI interactions.

The technology is evolving rapidly, and so is the evidence it leaves behind.

This is only the beginning, and we're excited to continue researching, developing tools, and sharing knowledge with the forensic community.

A great new addition to the Spyder Forensics Training curriculum, putting AI artefact examination firmly at the centre of the investigation.

This course goes far beyond simply reviewing ChatGPT, Claude, etc. prompts or conversation history or media generation processes. We take a deep dive into the backend data structures and forensic artefacts created when users interact with a variety of LLMs and AI applications.

For forensic examiners, the real evidence isn't always sitting in the conversation window. It’s often hidden underneath.

We’ve been putting a lot of work behind the scenes into our Windows Forensics Examiner (WFE) and Advanced Windows 11 Forensic Exploitation (AWFE) courses, and I’m really excited about what’s coming next!

Windows continues to evolve, and so does digital forensics. We’re continually updating our courses to reflect new technologies, emerging sources of digital evidence, and the investigative techniques examiners need to stay ahead.

These updates will make our already in-depth courses even more relevant to today’s digital forensic examiner, including expanded analysis of AI artifacts and a deeper dive into the core forensic evidence created through everyday interactions with Windows systems.

Windows isn't standing still, and neither are we.

Big news for our Drone Forensics students!

We're excited to announce a major update to our Drone Forensics Tool Suite, with new features and enhancements designed to make drone investigations faster, easier, and more insightful.

As always, these updates are provided free of charge to students who have attended our Advanced Drone Forensics course within the last 8 months.

Here's what's new:

🔹 Flight Log Review Tool
• Refreshed user interface with an improved workflow
• Automatic graphing and data plotting
• New geo-location package deployment mapping
• Additional analytical enhancements to help interpret flight activity more efficiently

🔹 Log File Extraction Tool
• More robust support for extracting data from custom flight controllers
• Improved export options for flight log analysis
• Continued expansion of supported log formats

🔹 ROS Bag Viewer
• Enhanced reporting capabilities
• Better presentation of extracted evidence

Since launching our Advanced Drone Forensic Analysis course, one question comes up time and time again:
