On behalf of the KLJ Movement and the KLJ Movement Board, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to our scholar, Kah’Liyah, and her family during this unimaginable time.
As the City of Madison grapples with these devastating circumstances, we are reminded of the importance of showing up for one another with compassion, care, and unwavering support.
At the KLJ Movement, the safety and well-being of our Scholars will always be our highest priority. Our hearts are with Kah’Liyah and Marjorie as they navigate this profound loss, and we want her to know that she is surrounded by a community that cares deeply for her.
Kah’Liyah has shared her intention to continue her dance journey with the KLJ Movement, and we stand beside her every step of the way. We are committed to providing the encouragement, resources, and support she needs as she moves forward, at her own pace and in the way that is best for her.
Many have asked how they can help. As Kah’Liyah continues her journey with the KLJ Movement, we invite our community to help keep her passions alive. Donations toward her dance expenses are one way to support her as she continues doing what she loves. If you would like to contribute, please contact the KLJ Movement.

In the note of the donation link please use Kah’Liyahs name to ensure the donation is not going to our general funds, as we are a non profit organization.
During this difficult time, the KLJ Movement also wants to be a place of support for anyone in need. If you are looking for ways to offer encouragement, assistance, or resources, we invite you to reach out to us. We will help coordinate support in a way that honors the family's wishes and respects their privacy.
We ask our community to keep Kah’Liyah, her mother Majorie, her loved ones, and all those impacted by this tragedy in your thoughts. Together, may we continue to lead with kindness, extend grace to one another, and strengthen the bonds that carry us through life's most difficult moments.
