Day Shift (Monday through Thursday, 6 AM to 4:30 PM) - Assemblers

Night Shift (Monday through Thursday, 5 PM to 3:30 AM) - Assemblers

We offer base pay, attendance/quality/retention bonuses and quarterly raises.

Mechanical Engineer

Vanguard National Trailer is a premier manufacturer of dry and refrigerated semi-trailers for North America. Vanguard National Trailer Corp. is a subsidiary of the CIMC Vehicle Group, the world’s leading manufacturer of commercial transport dry and refrigerated container and trailer equipment with subsidiaries across the globe.

We are a growing company looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position will report directly to the VP of Engineering.

Job Description

*Develop 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and Inventor programs

*Coordinate with other Engineering team members to design, layout, or detail components and systems to provide solutions to design and/or manufacturing challenges

*Review and analyze project specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data

*Provide technical support for the Sales, Purchasing, and Production teams as needed

*Engage with Production team members to improve designs or manufacturing processes

*Modify and revise existing designs to improve operating deficiencies or reduce production times

*Create and maintain bills of materials for existing designs using appropriate software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Infor Visual)

*Communicate with customers and vendors to ensure project specifications are met

*Other duties as assigned

Environment: 90% office, 10% production

Qualifications:

*2 or 4 year degree in an Engineering or Engineering Technology major (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred)

*Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

*Working knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD and Inventor experience preferred)

*Experience in a manufacturing environment; trailer industry experience a plus

*Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and maintain timelines

*Must be self-motivated as well as a great team member

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
