Get ready to be transported back in time! “Letters from Home,” a USO-style show, comes to Monmouth College’s Dahl Chapel on Thursday, November 7, at 7 p.m.

High-energy singing and tap dancing will honor important moments in our history, with artists like Frank Sinatra, the Andrews Sisters, and more! What a great start for the Maple Leaf Community Concert Series season. We enjoyed the eclectic sounds of J. Robert Spencer's "7,000 Miles to Broadway" at Dahl Chapel, Monmouth College campus. Join us for the next show at 7pm Thursday, November 9, and be entertained by "The Suits," a fabulous fusion of doo w*p and pop.

MAKE PLANS for next Tuesday, Oct 10th - MLCCS is back!
The Maple Leaf Community Concert Series kicks off with Tony Award-nominee and original Jersey Boys star J. Robert Spencer (Bobby). He takes you on a musical journey across genres and decades with his show 7,000 Miles to Broadway. Bobby travels down life’s highway sharing insightful and hilarious stories from growing up in Texas, and family road trips in the wood-paneled yellow station wagon singing along to classic country, rock 'n' roll, and Broadway favorites on the car radio and 8-tracks. From Willie Nelson’s country twang to the smooth crooning sounds of Frank Sinatra and the pop favorites of Franki Valli, 7,000 Miles to Broadway is chock full of radio and favorite Broadway hits!

And we are pleased to announce that we have reconnected with Buchanan Center for the Arts (BCA). Tickets, both individual and memberships, will be available at their gallery at 64 Public Square, Monmouth, IL.

Backtrack is a 5-person a ca****la group based in New York City. Their exciting arrangements transform familiar tunes and showcase the top-notch vocal and beatboxing abilities of all of the members. The group takes the stage around the nation at performing arts centers, corporate events, music festivals, schools and more. They infuse heart and humor into every performance and their versatile repertoire including Top 40, Motown, classical, show tunes, original music, and more, ensures that there is something for everyone. Backtrack is passionate about promoting the arts and helping students find and develop their voices. Backtrack has conducted educational programs at over 100 schools (elementary through college). They offer school assemblies, workshops with choirs, and clinics on topics including beatboxing, group vocal improvisation, and DIY music video production.

In 1957 THE DIAMONDS released an instant million selling hit called Little Darlin’. The song has been dubbed, “the National Anthem of Rock and Roll." The Diamonds' many accomplishments over the years include: 33 appearances on American Bandstand; 3 certified Gold Records; Soundtrack of “American Graffiti"; and Soundtrack of “Happy Days.”

Since the release of "Little Darlin’" THE DIAMONDS have learned one important lesson—the durability of this classic rock and roll music is as much about the future as it is about the past. As a result, THE DIAMONDS continue to expand their audience to this day, performing in a variety of venues and settings worldwide.

Join us at 7pm Thursday, October 28, at Dahl Chapel, Monmouth College, to hear the beautiful vocals of Veritas. Tickets are available at the Buchanan Center for the Arts.

Over the past several years, classical crossover vocal group Veritas found themselves in some tremendous places, from multiple performances at Carnegie Hall to cruises in the Caribbean and Alaska, to their symphonic debut with the highly acclaimed Miami Symphony. Since coming together in 2012, the sound of Veritas has captured not only the ears but the hearts of listeners across the globe. With backgrounds in opera, musical theater, rock, gospel, and pop, the five voices join together to create the “wall of sound” for which they have become known. From symphonies to theaters, churches, and civic events, audiences of every distinction attend Veritas concerts to experience a musical journey unlike any other.
