Be sure to join us for performances from the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and all three choirs. Galesburg native and Indiana University Jacobs School of Music graduate Luke Acerra will perform Debussy Cello Sonata, Brahms Sonata No. 1 in E minor and Britten First Suite for Solo Cello as his farewell recital before leaving for Austria to continue his music studies. Luke will be accompanied by Monmouth College’s own faculty Solee Lee-Clark on the piano in Dahl Chapel at Monmouth College.

The SS Edmund Fitzgerald was an American Great Lakes freighter that sank in Lake Superior during a storm on November 10, 1975, with the loss of the entire crew of 29 men. When launched on June 7, 1958, she was the largest ship on North America's Great Lakes, and she remains the largest to have sunk there.

The song was written by Gordon Lightfoot and arranged by Alan Dunbar.
