This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Gil Nichols back to campus!

Gil visited with his wife and son while traveling through Oregon and Washington, all the way from Kansas. He shared fond memories of his time at WOU more than 50 years ago, when he completed a summer graduate-level program in 1972.

Thank you for stopping by, Gil, and for continuing to be a proud Wolf!

It’s been a busy weekend for the the Wolves!

We kicked things off Friday night with our second Alumni and Friends Night at the Ballpark, where we we gathered to cheer on the Hillsboro Hops. It was especially fun to work with WOU Alum Johnny Harvey, who helped coordinate the evening from the Hops organization. It’s a great reminder of how our alumni continue to support and strengthen the WOU family!

Then today we joined the Dallas community for the annual Dallas Days Parade, celebrating alongside students, alumni, family and friends.

Thank you to everyone who came out, stopped to say hello, or waved as we passed by. We love bringing the WOU community together and can’t wait for our next summer events!

Today we had the privilege of welcoming OCE alumnus Jack Graham '53 back to campus for a visit that was as inspiring as it was meaningful.

At 98 years old, Jack shared that the University still holds a special place in his heart after all these years. During his visit, he and a few members of his family established a scholarship in memory of his first wife Jacqueline Louise Graham, also an OCE alum.

Looking through Jack's 1950 yearbook, he shared memories of his time on campus which included serving as class president, a member of the band, and a football and tennis player. It's a wonderful reminder that the connections formed here can truly last a lifetime.

Thank you, Jack, for your generosity, your enduring love for your alma mater, and for helping to inspire the next generation of Wolves.

We knocked our first Alumni and Friends Night out of the park!

We had a fantastic time kicking off our Ballpark series with the Eugene Emeralds. It was wonderful to reconnect with alumni, meet new members of the Wolf community, and cheer on the Emeralds together.

A highlight of the evening was seeing WOU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Ryan Orton throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. We were also thrilled to catch up with Justin and Malia Martin (’07) and so many other alumni and friends who joined us for the night.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first ballpark gathering of the summer such a success. We can’t wait to see even more of our Wolf family at our upcoming stops around the region!

🇺🇸 What a wonderful way to celebrate the Fourth of July!

We were proud to join the Monmouth-Independence community for this year’s parade, celebrating alongside alumni, friends, neighbors, and future Wolves. From reconnecting with familiar faces to sharing WOU’s history through our Archives, it was a day full of community spirit and Wolf pride.

Thank you to everyone who waved, stopped to say hello, and celebrated with us. We loved seeing so many members of the Wolf family!

Fifty years after crossing the stage themselves, the Class of 1976 returned to Western Oregon University as this year’s Golden Wolves.

Leading the student procession, Kenn Lehto, Miriam Haugen, John and Lois Schrenk and Jon Carey represented five decades of memories, friendships, and Wolf pride while welcoming the Class of 2026 into the alumni family.

Here’s to the generations of Wolves who continue to shape WOU’s story, and a sincere congratulations to the Class of 2026! Wherever life takes you next, you’ll always be part of the Wolf family. ❤️🐺
