🐻 It was a BEAR-y wonderful day as we learned about bears and hibernation!! We counted bears into their caves, made our own dens, and read a story about a sleeping bear who shouldn’t be disturbed! We made a “B is for Bear” letter, played hibernation freeze dance, and went on a VERY exciting bear hunt ending with the softest bear around! Thank you all for coming out for our last program of the Fall 2018. Be sure to keep an eye out on this page for upcoming news on the Series return for the Spring of 2019!! It has been such a fun fall with you all and we are so grateful for all of our little Puh’tok friends!!

There was plenty of horsing around for our Horse themed Puh’tok Nature Series yesterday. We got the chance to learn about of our horses here on camp and take pony rides, as well embellish real horseshoes with our favorite colors and decorations!! Our kiddos also had some fun with getting to actually finger paint live horses with washable horse-friendly paint, and read a pony story in our tack room. We ended the day with the song “I’m a Little Cowboy/Cowgirl” and horse size sorting! Thank you to those who came out yesterday and we appreciate all of the unbridled enthusiasm 🐎🐴

It was a fun penguin-packed day as we learned about penguins and how their wings have wax to keep them warm, we did our best penguin impressions and waddled away as we jumped over icebergs. We got to build our own penguins and paint with frozen artic paint for the bellies of the penguins. Today we also reviewed our upper and lower case letters as well as numbers while we fed our penguin friends some yummy fish!

We had an excellent elephant-filled day with our Puh’Tok Nature Series yesterday!! We trekked through some rain to feed the elephant as we learned about initials, letters- capitalized and lower case, and numbers! We made our own elephant headbands and read a story by the cozy fire! To end the day we made elephants out of paper plates and performed an elephant trunk toothpaste experiment! Thank you to those who came out and we are excited for next week’s theme of PENGUINS 🐧

How do you know when the moon has had enough to eat? When it’s full!! We learned about the full moon and it’s other phases, made some constellations, built our own mini rocket ships, moved and played like astronauts, and painted moon craters! It was indeed an out-of-this-world day with our Nature Series crew!

Today was quite the wild rumpus with our Puh’Tok Nature Series theme of Where The Wild Things Are. We learned about patterns and spotting differences, made our very own Wild Things Monster Masks, learned size sorting, and of course read the story for which it is all based on! We also became the kings and queens of the Wild Things ourselves as we created our name crowns, went wild and had a wild rumpus party, and pinned the tail on Max. We had fun making our mischief of one kind and another and roaring our terrible roars.

It was a wonderful day as we learned about weather! The sun shined brightly during our alphabet puddle jump, weather mobile making, and bingo! We made the most beautiful cloud watching binoculars in the universe, and of course as the clouds flew above, we enjoyed some warmer weather and played soccer! To end the program, we delighted in calming down with some weather yoga!! It was a radiant day for us to explore our theme of weather!!

We got to see some true magic at Camp Puh’Tok today as we wandered through the enchanted woods to see what mystical creatures we could find or learn about!! We enjoyed a unicorn spotting and building a fairy dwelling for all the little fairies we found in the woods. We made sparkly wind spinners to attract the fairies and gnomes, and read a magical story!! We were also able to make fairy dust jars so that fairies will come to hear our wishes, and got our very own magical wands!! It was a fantasy-filled day with our Puh’Tok Nature Series program!! 🌲🧚🏼‍♂️🦄🌳🦋🧚🏼‍♂️
