We are thrilled to welcome our students back to school on Tuesday, August 25th! To help make the first day extra special, families are welcome to walk their student to class that morning. We are excited to begin a wonderful new school year together and can’t wait to see our students and families back on campus!
As we get our transportation routines in place, please anticipate that buses and car lines will run later than usual during the first few days of school. We appreciate your patience and understanding as students and drivers settle into their new routes and routines.
Please review the following important arrival and dismissal times:
*Doors open at 7:30 AM
*Tardy bell rings at 8:00 AM
*Dismissal is at 3:10 PM Monday–Thursday
*Friday dismissal is at 2:10 PM
*Car riders will be loaded after the buses leave MIS.
For everyone’s safety, please follow our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures outlined below. Your cooperation helps us keep traffic moving smoothly and, most importantly, ensures a safe start and end to each school day.
Directions for Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Please review these procedures to help keep arrival and dismissal safe, efficient, and moving smoothly.
Morning Drop-Off: Morning traffic forms a single line beginning at the stop sign near the Food Service building.
In the Drop-Off Zone
*Students must exit on the right side of the vehicle onto the sidewalk.
*Pull all the way forward before stopping so the entire drop-off zone can be used.
*Do not block the crosswalk.
*When traffic stops in the drop-off zone, all students should exit right away, regardless of where the vehicle is in line.
*Have students ready to go with belongings in hand and goodbyes finished before it is time to unload.
Entering the Car Line
*Do not block the roadway at the southwest corner of the parking lot.
*Merge like a zipper: one car from each side.
*Follow staff directions
*Staff members are outside to assist with traffic and student safety.
*Please follow staff instructions and obey staff stop signs just as you would a regular stop sign.
When everyone follows these procedures, the average morning wait time is less than two minutes.
Afternoon Pick-Up: Afternoon traffic forms a double line beginning at the stop sign near the Food Service building.
Which Lane Should I Use?
4th Grade: Use the LEFT lane
*Pick-up is in the same location and follows the same procedures as morning drop-off.
5th Grade: Use the RIGHT lane (closest to the Food Service building)
*Pick-up is in the front drive of the school.
Picking up both a 4th and 5th grade student? Use the 4th grade car line for afternoon pick-up.
In the Pick-Up Zone
*Pull all the way forward before stopping so the entire loading zone can be used.
*Students will enter vehicles only after traffic has stopped.
*Remind your student to enter the vehicle promptly so the line can continue moving safely and efficiently.
Quick Reminders
*Be patient and allow extra time, especially during the first few days of school.
*Keep crosswalks and roadways clear.
*Watch for staff directions at all times.
Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe for everyone!
