Our Health Occ 2 students are getting ready to start clinicals and gain valuable hands-on experience! 🩺💉 We are so excited for them to take this next step in their healthcare journey and put their skills into practice!

We are thrilled to have Madison serving in this leadership role as she helps encourage our members, promote competitive events, and support our HOSA chapter. Kicking Off HOSA at SRTC!

We are excited to kick off a new year of HOSA: Future Health Professionals and introduce our SRTC Health Occupations HOSA Chapter Officers! 🎉

HOSA: Future Health Professionals (formerly Health Occupations Students of America) is a national career and technical student organization dedicated to preparing students for careers in healthcare. Through HOSA, students have opportunities to develop leadership skills, build confidence, explore healthcare careers, participate in conferences and competitions, and connect what they are learning in the classroom to the healthcare profession.

We are so pleased to introduce our HOSA officers and share a little bit about each of them! 🩺✨

🎉 We are kicking things off with our elected 2026–2027 HOSA Chapter President, Lizett Aldava! 🎉

Lizett will help lead our HOSA chapter throughout the school year, represent our Health Occupations program, and encourage her fellow students as they explore their futures in healthcare. We are excited to see her step into this leadership role and can't wait to see all she accomplishes this year!

🫀🔬 Health Occupations is excited to introduce our new Anatomage Table! 🔬🫀

We are thrilled to bring this incredible technology into our classroom! The Anatomage Table gives our students an interactive, hands-on way to explore the human body and gain a deeper understanding of anatomy.

Students can virtually explore the body from the inside out, examine detailed anatomical structures, and view X-rays and CT scans. The table also includes realistic simulations and clinical experiences, including childbirth, catheterizations, and many other medical procedures and scenarios.

This technology will give our Health Occupations students an amazing opportunity to connect what they learn in the classroom to real-world healthcare experiences. 🩺❤️

We are SO excited to have this resource in our classroom and can't wait to see our students learn, explore, and discover all that the human body has to offer! 🧠🫁🫀🦴

🩸 Busy days in Health Occ 2!🩸

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks in Health Occ 2! From learning how to properly tie tourniquets and practicing venipuncture techniques to completing our first live sticks, our students have been working hard and building their confidence every step of the way! 💉👏

We’re staying busy reviewing and perfecting our skills as we prepare to take our knowledge and hands-on experience into the hospital setting.

We are so proud of the progress these students are making! We can’t wait to see what they accomplish next! 🩺❤️

🌟 Meet Our New Health Occupations Instructor Claudia Cruz! 🩺💙

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Cruz as our new Health Occupations Level 1 Instructor at Scott Regional Technology Center!

Mrs.Cruz is a Registered Nurse with over 8 years of experience in the medical field, bringing a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience to our Health Occupations program.

Most of her nursing experience has been in pediatrics and long-term care, along with experience in postpartum, NICU, and adult medical-surgical nursing.

Mrs. Cruz spent approximately 6 years working in Pediatrics at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, where she gained valuable experience caring for children and families. Her extensive long-term care experience has also given her a strong foundation in patient care, CNA skills, teamwork, communication, and caring for patients with a wide variety of needs and abilities.

Now, she is excited to bring her real-world nursing experience into the classroom and help prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. ❤️

We are thrilled to have Claudia Cruz join the Scott Regional Technology Center Health Occupations family and can't wait to see the impact she will have on our students!
