For those interested, Chip Chipman's obituary is below. His funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon, July 19, 2026, at the Victory Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Saturday at Dial-Murray Funeral Home in Moncks Corner.

Richard Lee Chip Chipman, 78, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away Monday morning at his residence, surrounded by the community and family he loved so dearly. Born on February 6, 1948, in Dry Ridge, Kentucky, Chip was a son of the late Tilden Bud Chipman and Rosella Washum Chipman.

Greetings all students and non students! It's not *~all~* bluegrass here at the Bluegrass Academy... I've posted 3 different sheets I've made for students last year and figured that I'd share them with you too!

We're working on a couple of new classes/ensembles to be a part of this coming year, so please keep your eyes posted on our facebook to see what's coming up!

Some people call us crazy for playing an outdoor show the day before the winter solstice, and maybe we are! Nonetheless we are excited to do some bluegrass versions of the classic Christmas tunes. The fun part is getting students that have been playing for just a few months, with students that have been playing for two years.

Come see a ton of guitars on one stage, with yours truly on banjo. Told the younger students I’ll give them a dollar if they pull off Tony Rice’s G run. See you there!
