This October in Charleston and Summerville, Roper St. Francis Healthcare will offer free breast cancer screenings.

Women 18 and older who have not had a breast exam in the past 12 months qualify. Screenings are open to patients regardless of insurance status, including those who are uninsured, underinsured or insured.

🚒🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK IS HERE! 🔥🚒

It’s officially Fire Prevention Week, October 4th–10th, and the Town of Moncks Corner Fire Department has an exciting week planned for our community!

This year’s theme is “Charge into Fire Safety™”, focusing on lithium-ion battery safety and how small actions can prevent big emergencies! 🔋⚡

🚒 Monday: Catch Sparky outside Fire Station 2!

🚨 Tuesday: Join us for our Fire Prevention Parade, followed by National Night Out! Come meet your local first responders and enjoy an evening of community fun! Parade starts a 6PM

📚 Thursday: Visit us at the Farmers Market for a special reading of Curious George and the Firefighters!

Fire prevention starts with YOU! Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing important safety tips, visiting local schools, and connecting with the families we proudly serve.

📢 IMPORTANT CHILD CARE SCHOLARSHIP UPDATE!

The S.C. Child Care Scholarship Wait List is now open! Families who do not qualify under a federally protected category may now add their names to the wait list for child care assistance as funding becomes available.

Beginning October 1, 2026, updated eligibility guidelines include an initial income limit of 55% of the State Median Income (SMI), children ages 0–5 who are not enrolled in kindergarten, and additional eligibility requirements.

Aspire Early Learning Academy has openings for all ages. Use the link to schedule a tour, complete the enrollment packet, reserve a spot, and engage in a smooth transition when your application is pulled. Families will have only a short window to secure a location once they are approved.
