Diploma vs Certification of completion.
Please make sure you're paying attention in meetings when services are being proposed to be increased or different classroom placement.
Before you agree always make sure you have a clear understanding of what is happening. Don't be afraid to ask the question.
Will this move my child to a certificate of completion track ?

You as the parent have a right in this decision.

A student remains on the diploma track when:

They are able to work toward grade-level standards (with accommodations and supports).

They earn the required course credits.

They pass required state assessments (with accommodations if needed).

Their IEP goals support progress in the general education curriculum.

Even if a student:

Has significant learning disabilities

Needs resource support

Has behavioral or executive functioning challenges

They can still earn a standard diploma if they meet state requirements.
