Head Start programs run on more than instruction. Behind every classroom are the people who handle eligibility and background checks, community-wide planning, health and safety compliance, records, and family support β€” work that keeps children safe and programs accountable.

The Head Start Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) includes a proposal to cut the current 15% cap on administrative costs down to 5%. NHSA supports putting as much funding as possible toward children and classrooms and responsible limits on overhead. But cutting paperwork should not mean cutting the people and systems that keep children safe and programs running well.

A program serving 40 families and a program serving 1,000 families don't operate with identical cost structures β€” a one-size-fits-all cap can be especially difficult for small and rural programs.

πŸŽ‰πŸ‘ PERFECT ATTENDANCE CELEBRATION! πŸ‘πŸŽ‰

Early Head Start is showing everyone how it's done! While Head Start students started school today, our Early Head Start classrooms were already leading the way with outstanding attendance! 🌟

Congratulations to our four Early Head Start classrooms that achieved Perfect Attendance on Monday, August 24, 2026:

βœ… Aliquippa EHS Rm-4
βœ… B. Falls 7th Ave. EHS-CCP.
βœ… Economy/Ambridge EHS-CCP.
βœ… Rochester EHS-CCP.

Every day a child attends, they gain valuable learning experiences, build relationships, and strengthen the foundation for future success.

πŸ’™ "Attendance isn't just showing up, it's showing you care. Be here today, be your best tomorrow!" πŸ’™

Keep up the amazing work, families, children, and staff! Let's continue making attendance a priority and send the Summer Monster packing! πŸŽ’πŸ‘‹
