Whitetails Unlimited encourages all hunters to donate extra venison or other game meat to help provide meals for those in need. Giving and sharing are always in season. There are many state fish and game agencies and nonprofit organizations that help offset the processing costs associated with donated game, and they work with food pantries in their respective areas.

For members who want to join our efforts in creating hunter awareness to donate extra venison or other game meat, Donate A Deer decals will be available at WTU 2026-2027 events starting July 1.

Summer deer behavior tells you everything you need to know about how to hunt your property in the fall. Movement happens at first and last light. The middle of the day is spent bedded in shade near water. Bucks group up in bachelor parties focused on packing on weight and growing antlers.
The bedding areas they use in July are the same ones they retreat to in October. The water sources they hit in summer become killer rut stand locations. And the food they hammer now tells you what they will hit again in fall.
