📚NEW COURSE ALERT📚
We're very excited to launch a brand new, 16-week, fully online fine arts elective available to all Black Hawk College students this Fall - MUSC 160 Jazz, Blues, and Rock & Roll! Taught by the incredible Crystal Rebone Music, this is a survey course that explores how various ethnic musical traditions influence contemporary American musical culture. Students will trace roots of jazz, blues, rock ‘n’ roll from their origins in African-American music and other ethnic musical heritages to their continuing role in shaping a pluralistic American culture. So yeah...It's going to be awesome! General education fine arts credit pending retroactive IAI approval.

A true story: thanks to a generous donation to our Choral Fund from one of our supporters from out of state, we were able to purchase 10 new choir folders for our program! These are borrowed by students during concert season so that they don't have to purchase them. Thank you for your support, now and always!

Like most art programs in colleges and universities, we rely on our community's support to deliver unique learning experiences to our students. As an example, thanks to contributions of people like you and organizations that host our performing groups, this year our students were able to see Herbie Hancock and Pentatonix live in concert. How amazing is that! The price of their tickets was covered by our BHC Music Fund, to which many of you have contributed over the years. To ensure that we can continue to bring these types of experiences and many others to our students, we ask for your support. All donations are tax-deductible and go through the Black Hawk College Foundation. To give today, visit https://musicdepartment.securepayments.cardpointe.com/pay

Thank you for your continued support of what we do!
