WGN Channel 9 Chicago visited Mindful Way Studio in Mokena to see what happens when older adults are invited to move and challenge their belief about what’s possible.
I created Ageless Adult Fitness program for adults who want more than a standard exercise class. Yes, we build strength, balance, mobility, coordination, and confidence in everyday movement. But the deeper purpose is to help people rebuild trust in their bodies, engage their minds, and feel connected to something larger than exercising alone. Build a community and a quality of life.
At every age, physical ability is connected to belief. When someone begins to think, maybe I can still try, a meaningful shift begins.
That is why this program integrates:
• strength and conditioning for functional independence
• balance, core vitality, mobility, and chair yoga
• brain-and-body coordination through memory, rhythm, attention, and movement
• mindfulness and supportive community
• a monthly wellness coaching circle designed to support the whole person - with Ania Szaflarski
The results we care about are practical and deeply human: moving with more confidence, feeling steadier, staying engaged, strengthening connection, and continuing to participate fully in life.
I am grateful to WGN’s Around Town for highlighting this work, to the members who showed up with such courage and warmth, and to our Mindful Way Studio team.
Our next step is to bring Ageless Adult Fitness into local senior living, assisted living, and community facilities—creating accessible, results-oriented wellness programming that supports body, mind, and spirit where older adults already live and gather.
If you lead or know a senior community that would benefit from a conversation, I would love to connect.
