JARVIS MIDDLE SCHOOL IS HONORING DOLLY PARTON!

Friday, September 25, 2026

We’re celebrating Dolly Parton at Jarvis Middle School—not just for her music, but for her lifelong commitment to children, literacy, kindness, hard work, and giving back to others. 💗📖✨

Through her Imagination Library, Dolly has made books more accessible to children and encouraged a love of reading in communities around the world. Her message of using your talents, working hard, being kind, and helping others is one we want to share with our Jarvis students!

🎉 How can students participate on Friday?

🤠 Dress the Part: Wear western gear, pink, or sparkles!

📚 Support Literacy: Students can drop off donations for the Imagination Library in the Media Center.

💗 Pass It On: Practice small acts of kindness throughout the day.

🔎 Explore: Take on our Library Scavenger Hunt!

🎯 Work Hard: Put some effort into a goal you have set for yourself.

This is a fun opportunity for our students to celebrate reading, kindness, perseverance, and making a difference—while having a little Dolly-style fun! 💕🤠✨

Thank you for helping us make Friday a day of reading, kindness, and a whole lot of sparkle!

🌟 Keep Shining, Jarvis! 🌟

Thanks to all our Jarvis faculty, staff, and administrators who took the time to help promote our new genrefied fiction layout. Each adult visited the library to write their name and favorite genre on a jam jar to be displayed on our bulletin board. Hopefully, students try reading a new genre after reviewing the bulletin board!❤️📚

09/04/2026

I officially finished our genrefication project!🎉

Now our students can go to a prefered genre section to find their next read, instead of looking at a bunch of book spines in alphabetical order!

Today is a happy day!😊
