One of our outside teaching staff was honored this weekend at the Association for Outdoor and Environmental Education Conference as Instructor of the year.

With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Amy Roe exemplifies the heart and craft of environmental education. Amy is an educator at Foothill Horizons Outdoor School who is celebrated for her deep commitment to place-based, student-centered learning and her ability to inspire curiosity and confidence in her students. She designs lessons that are relevant, accessible, and rooted in the local landscape, continually assessing and adapting to meet her students where they are. Beyond the classroom, Amy models what it means to teach with cultural awareness and integrity.
