🚜🎉 Reed Family Companies Brings Hands-On Fun to Touch-A-Truck Modesto! A big thank you to everyone who joined us at this year’s Touch-A-Truck Modesto event! It was an incredible day filled with family fun, community connections, and lots of opportunities for kids to explore the world of construction. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

Our Reed Family Companies team came together to build a custom sandbox where children and parents could dig, play, and enjoy the experience together. Throughout the event, we handed out 1,000 safety vests, hard hats, construction-themed coloring books, and more than 600 pet rocks for kids to decorate and take home. 🦺⛑️🖍️🪨

One of the biggest highlights of the day was the remote-controlled heavy equipment activity, giving kids the chance to get behind the controls and experience what it's like to operate construction equipment. 🚧🎮

We're grateful to everyone who stopped by and helped make the event such a success. 😊 🚜

❤️👟 Walking Together for a Healthier Community! Reed Family Companies recently participated in the 209 Heart & Stroke Walk, joining community members, families, and local businesses in support of the American Heart Association's mission to fight heart disease and stroke.

The event was an opportunity to spend time together outside of work while supporting a cause that affects so many families. Heart disease and stroke remain two of the leading health challenges in the United States, and events like the Heart Walk help raise awareness, encourage healthier lifestyles, and fund programs, education, and research that save lives. 🫀🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, and showed their support. 🙌 Together, we took steps toward a healthier future while helping make a difference in our communities. ❤️

A New Pathway to Hope in Elk Grove

🌟 A dream became reality as xHope celebrated the grand opening of its new Pathways of Hope Enrichment Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Elk Grove, California.

The new center will serve vulnerable youth and families throughout the Sacramento region by providing mentorship, education, life skills training, resources, and a welcoming space where meaningful relationships can grow. As CEO and Co-Founder Wendi Cross shared, the facility is "more than four walls." It is a place where families can gather, receive support, build skills, and access the resources they need to break the cycle of poverty and prevent homelessness. 💙

🌟 Making a Difference in Our Community! At Reed Family Companies, we believe in the power of giving back. Our Reed Service Day allows employees to dedicate time to local non-profits, and recently, our VSS International, Inc. team—Rick Cross, Mike Harrison, and Will Cross—helped XHOPElocal, Inc. relocate to a larger space, enabling them to better serve vulnerable children in the Sacramento area.

This new 4,500 sq. ft. facility will provide essential resources and support for families in need. Additionally, our Operation Shoebox campaign successfully collected 87 pairs of shoes for xHope, showcasing our team's dedication to community involvement. A heartfelt thank you to all our employees for their support of such a noble cause! 💖 Shoutout to 7/11 Materials employees Judy Kelly and George Rivera for delivering the 87 donated pairs of shoes to xHope! 👏😀

Reed Family Companies has been recognized by the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) as a recipient of the 2025 Community Involvement Award, part of NAPA's Operational Excellence Awards program.

The award recognizes organizations that make a lasting impact in the communities they serve through strong community relations and employee involvement. One of the initiatives highlighted in the award was our annual Touch-A-Truck event, held in partnership with the Modesto Chamber of Commerce. The event gives local families and children the opportunity to explore construction equipment up close, meet industry professionals, and learn more about careers in construction.
