What a wonderful, 75th birthday party we had for ourselves. So sorry we didn’t have more of us in attendance, but so happy that we had the chance to be together and share our birthdays.

Such a wonderful, 75th birthday party for all of us. Wish more of us had been there but next time! Love each and everyone of you.
We’ve been thinking that this year most of us are turning 75 and wouldn’t it be fun to have a nice potluck picnic in honor of our 75th birthday? It would also be great to get together and see everyone!! It’s been a hot minute!! if you’re interested in doing that, let me know here on this page and what month that you think it should be in? Obviously we want to wait until the weather is pretty stable and nice. also probably a park venue idea. Can’t wait to hear from you all.

Hello friends and family of Karen.
First and foremost, my apologies on my delay.
This is Tilla Michele, Karen’s daughter.
Karen has sadly passed at her home, peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 6th, 2025. We could not have prayed for a better way to go, that was exactly how she wanted it. As you all may know, she had many ailments but her heart was just not able to keep up. The evening of Sunday January 5th, her two friends were over visiting. They enjoyed a wonderful evening together and yummy dinner, filling her cup with all the love ♥️. She was able to go to sleep in peace and I truly believe that helped her so much.
Unfortunately she left behind her loyal companions Baxter and Louie “her boys”. Karen’s dear friend Steve has graciously taken them in and will care for them for their remaining days earth side.
As you can imagine I have been overwhelmed with all the tasks and sadly she did not leave me with helpful directions. I am doing my very best that I can with my little children in tow. As I navigate through all of her belongings to find important documents, I have encountered many unfortunate documents of past due, overdrawn and debt collection. I had just helped by paying some bills but it was not enough to cover all of what I have found. She did have a burial policy but she stopped paying it years ago, which leaves very little towards her cremation.
Many people have asked how they could help so I have created a Go Fund Me account in hopes to raise enough funds to cover her cremation and funeral costs. Any funds remaining I plan to put towards her dog’s care and maintenance. I wish I was in a better position not to ask for help but here I am.
God Bless each of you who knew her. I’m sorry for our loss.
At this moment, services have not been scheduled but I hope to have a celebration of life at Trinity Church in Escalon, CA. in February. I will update with a date and time.
Sadly, Karen Powers Skelly passed away this last Sunday. I will try to attach the information from her daughter for more information. My old friends and classmates we need to hold each other, dear and close because we never know from day-to-day anymore. RIP Karen ♥️🙏✝️

It was so good to get together with some of our 1968 Davis dolls for lunch yesterday. In attendance were Donna Peters Picucci, Debby Andersen Neuman, Ruby (Linda) Wallis, Karen Powers Skelly, Lorena Jarrell Carillo, Kathy Varni Robbins, Pam Porteous Timmermeyer, and Jo Woodward Rego . We talked about having quarterly luncheons with the guys and dolls from our Davis class. If you’re interested, please let me know so I can add you to our messenger group of Davis Guys and Dolls. Remember folks, life is short and we’re already missing many of us so let’s keep in touch.
Update on Anita Fontana Louis memorial. Anita’s memorial is on Saturday May 29th at the Red Event center at 921 8th street Modesto at noon.

As of now, I am not aware of any services. When I learn of them, I will post. She will be so missed. Her huge heart was with everyone. She never found anyone that she did not like. May you Rest In Peace Anita. You are greatly missed already.😭
