❤️ Our hearts are broken.
Our hearts go out to the families of the two young students who were hit by a car Friday night. There are no words that can adequately express the pain of such an unimaginable loss.
As teachers, we spend six hours a day with your children. We love them, listen to them, get to know them, and fight every day to ensure they are safe, healthy, and happy to the best of our ability. They become our family, too.
Watching this tragedy unfold has broken our hearts. As parents, we say goodbye to our children as they head off to a football game, never imagining that it could be our last moment with them. It is every parent’s worst nightmare, and our hearts ache for the families who are living that unimaginable reality.
To the families: We hold you in our hearts. You are surrounded by a community grieving alongside you.
To our teachers: Hold your students a little closer. Love them a little harder. Remind them that they matter, that they are seen, and that they are loved.
To our community: Now, more than ever, let us lead with love, compassion, and kindness. We never know the battles others are facing, and we must take care of one another.
To our MTA family: Please wear RED AND BLACK all this week in solidarity with our Modesto High School family. Let our colors serve as a reminder that we stand together, and we will support one another through this difficult time.
To our students, families, teachers, and the entire Modesto High community: We are here for you.
Please take care of yourselves and each other.
Due to these circumstances, MTA will be canceling its Oct.19th pack the board attendance rally.
