The Iron Patriots is the only robotics team in Stanislaus County and open to all Modesto City School high school students. We compete through FIRST, an international organization that hosts competitions all around the world. The team consists of students interested in electronics, robotics, programming, mechanics, business, project management, photography, media, and marketing. Our shop and team are based out at Beyer High school in Modesto, CA which is a Title-1 school. The Iron Patriots FRC team started in 2012 and has been very successful, reaching the World Championships in 2016, 2017, 2022, and 2023. We value diversity and offer scholarships for team member who are in need. Members must be mature enough to work independently in a functioning shop and be able to keep up with their schoolwork throughout the intense build season. Joining the team is a large commitment and we encourage potential students to read the student handbook on our resources page to get a full understanding of the scope and commitment of joining this Varsity team. This unique learn-by-doing program provides high school students with vocational skills by working with power and machine shop tools, pneumatics, learning wiring, welding, programming, and problem-solving. It also provides opportunities that can be used in the academic world such as engineering design, web design and marketing, public speaking skills, and much more.
