On Day 2 of my Reiki Crystal I class, a large coyote crossed the road directly in front of me on my way to work this morning.

But then it stopped.

Right in the middle of the road, it turned and stared directly at me. It stayed there for a moment, then continued on its way when another car approached.

What makes this beginning to my day so remarkable is that just yesterday in class, I shared a story about a very clear message involving a coyote that happened to my husband and me years ago.

And then this happens the very next morning.

So, once again, I find myself asking one of my favorite questions...

What are the odds?

Four Major Celestial Events Converge August 12

August 12, 2026, is shaping up to be an extraordinary day in our skies, with several significant celestial events occurring within the same 24-hour period.

Before sunrise, six planets will appear across the morning sky: Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Uranus, Saturn and Neptune. Four may be visible to the naked eye, while Uranus and Neptune require viewing equipment.

August 12 also brings a New Moon, traditionally a time associated with turning inward, reflection and new beginnings.

That same New Moon will move between the Earth and Sun, creating a total solar eclipse. Here in Northern California, we will not be able to see the eclipse, but that does not mean we cannot pause and reflect on the significance of what is happening in the skies.

Then, as darkness returns, the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak the night of August 12–13. With very little moonlight competing with the meteors, viewing conditions should be especially good this year.

From an energetic perspective, this feels like powerful movement. On a larger scale, we may see things shaken up or brought to the surface. On a personal level, I find this energy empowering.

Rather than sitting back and waiting to see what happens, consider how you might work with this moment. Take action. Make the decision. Begin the change. Move forward.

What a wonderful weekend of Reiki Drumming, healing, learning, and community.

There is something very special about gathering together and experiencing the vibration of the drum combined with Reiki energy. Reiki Drumming is such a powerful modality for supporting relaxation, releasing what we no longer need, and creating space for greater balance and well-being.

I loved watching everyone learn, practice, connect with their drums, and experience this work together.

And perhaps one of my favorite parts of teaching is the community that is created along the way. So grateful for this beautiful group and the energy we shared.

Have you ever noticed feathers appearing along your path?

For as long as I can remember, feathers have found their way into my life. They seem to appear at meaningful moments, quietly inviting me to pause and reflect.

Many traditions associate different types, colors, and patterns of feathers with different symbolic meanings. Depending on the feather, they may represent hope, courage, protection, transformation, new beginnings, peace, or spiritual guidance. Whether you view them as meaningful signs or simply beautiful gifts from nature, they often encourage us to pause and become more aware of the present moment.

I still find myself smiling every time I discover one. It reminds me that even the smallest moments in nature can inspire wonder and reflection.

Do you find feathers regularly? If so, what kinds of feathers seem to appear for you, and what meaning do they hold? I’d love to hear your experiences.

We are teaching Kid Reiki the next two days. I will be back in the office on Tuesday. :-)
