Sharing on behalf of the MJC EOP&S office:
"Join the interactive workshop with Yosimar Reyes, the current Santa Clara County Poet Laureate and was named the 2024 Creative Ambassador by the City of San José. A writer, poet, and performer, Reyes is widely recognized for his compelling storytelling and exploration of the undocumented and q***r experience.
In this virtual workshop, students will explore anecdotes and personal narratives to craft compelling story arcs. The session will focus on resilience and cultural wealth, recognizing the strengths and knowledge we carry through our lived experiences.
Participants will also generate new writing and practice public speaking by sharing their work aloud in a supportive environment.
This is a perfect opportunity for students who are finishing their MJC Scholarship essays (due by Nov. 7th) and/or University essays due later this semester!"
