Earlier this week high school CTE students had the opportunity to attend a conference held at CSU Stanislaus. But this wasn't just any conference. It was an interactive experience designed to engage, connect, and inspire! Students, educators, and manufacturing leaders from across the North Valley gathered together in one place, with one shared goal: to build a stronger, more connected manufacturing workforce for the future of our region.

Students were broken up into teams to work alongside industry mentors in a Supply Chain Simulation. Students learned how to build a supply chain and then solve hands-on bottlenecks in manufacturing, logistics, and quality management. Educators and manufacturing leaders participated in breakout sessions for workforce hiring, a resume lab, resources for employee upskilling, and workforce solutions.

Beyer High School's Patriot Robotics were showcasing their skills in the Expo where everyone gathered to network and explore career opportunities with local manufacturers.

🚑 Gregori EMT Students Learn Life-Saving Skills! 🩸

Gregori Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) students recently participated in Stop the Bleed training taught by medical professionals from Sutter Memorial Medical Center.

Students received hands-on training in critical emergency response techniques, including wound packing and the proper use of tourniquets. These skills can make a life-saving difference when responding to serious bleeding emergencies.

We are proud to see our students gaining real-world experience and developing the skills they will need for future careers in emergency medicine and healthcare! ❤️‍🩹

📰 CTE Students Explore Journalism & Media! 🎥

Several Modesto City Schools CTE programs recently attended the Journalism and Media Education Network Summit - JAMEN - at CSU Stanislaus! The summit was designed to inspire students to explore careers in journalism, media, and communications.

Students were placed into small groups and challenged to create a story in a format of their choice. Throughout the day, they collaborated, researched, interviewed, wrote, and developed their ideas with guidance from CSU Stanislaus instructors, local media professionals, and journalists.

By the end of the day, each group presented their findings and the final story they created during the summit. It was an incredible opportunity for our students to experience what it’s like to work together in the fast-paced world of journalism and media! 🎬📝

We are proud to see our CTE students learning, creating, collaborating, and exploring future career opportunities! 🚀

Gregori Medical Science students are getting ready to take the next step in their healthcare journey! Students attended an orientation at Doctors Medical Center in preparation for beginning their clinical experiences next week. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

During orientation, students learned about:
🔹 HIPAA laws and patient privacy
🔹 Student responsibilities while at Doctors Medical Center
🔹 Professional clothing and dress requirements
🔹 Ways to reduce the spread of disease
🔹 Hospital safety codes and procedures

These future healthcare professionals are building the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed to succeed in a clinical setting. We can't wait to see all they accomplish! 💙🩺

This week, CTE students in the Patient Care and Public Safety pathways from both Davis High School and Gregori High School took a significant step towards safety and preparedness by becoming certified in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS)!
Congratulations to all the students for their commitment to learning these vital skills. This training not only empowers them to respond effectively in emergencies but also fosters a culture of care and responsibility within our communities.
