Please come to Davie High School tomorrow night for a great evening of music at our “Pre-MPA” concert. All 3 middle school 8th grade bands (North, South, and Ellis) will present our MPA program followed by the 3 high school bands. The show starts at 6pm in the DHS Auditorium.

These kids had a blast today!! They gave up 4 hours on a Saturday morning to be better!! From 8-12, we had sectionals and full band rehearsal with Todd Ebert! Lots of progress today!! I’m proud of you all!!

These fine musicians performed at the Beta club convention in Greensboro yesterday!! They placed 4th for their ensemble performance! Music is so powerful and these kids chose to share it on their own!! I’m so proud to be their teacher!!!

Fruit 🍎 🍊 will be delivered tomorrow!!! We just got the call that it was on it’s way. You may pick up your fruit in the bus parking lot from 3:45-6:30pm.

The "Winter Concert" for ALL SDMS Bands will be next Thursday, December 8th at 6:00 pm. Information was sent home today with your child. This event will run in tandem with the Book Fair at South. The concert will be held in our gym.

Please come out and enjoy the sounds of the season and support our book fair. Admission for the concert is free.

I am SO PROUD of our kids!! They played a great concert today to honor our veterans and did so with a ton of pride and integrity!! This is part of what’s right with our schools!!!

It has been a pleasure to lead this program for the past nine years, and South Davie, Mocksville, and Davie County will always hold a special place in my heart. This will be my last post before turning things over to our new band director, Mr. Ward Wilson! Mr. Wilson is a saxophonist and a Davie County native; he went to North Davie, graduated from DCHS in 2011 (where he was drum major of the War Eagle Regiment), and graduated in 2015 from Western Carolina University. He has been the band director at West Iredell Middle for the past 6 years, and will be just the third band director that South has had during its 40 year existence. I am so excited to see the band program continue to thrive under his guidance, and know he will continue to lead our students to new heights. Our students, staff, and community are lucky to have him, and it is an honor to turn it over to him. Best of luck to all, and welcome to South Davie Mr. Wilson!
