Big thanks to Adam Howard from the Davie County Fire Marshal Office/Emergency Management and representatives from Farmington Fire Department Station 23 for stopping by to teach our carpentry students fire safety and extinguisher skills! 🧯

Students also discussed how to jumpstart careers in emergency services through our Career and College Promise partnership with Davidson-Davie Community College.

Davie County High School students can take Fire and EMS classes tuition-free and earn high school and college credit—qualifying them to apply for pre-apprenticeships with Davie County EMS and local fire departments upon completion. See student services for more information.

Through our Work-Based Learning and internship/apprenticeship programs, local employers like SBA Home North Carolina provide our students, like senior Hunter Stephens, with hands-on experience while solving real workforce needs.

What a week! From cameras to livestock, our CTE students kicked off the school year strong with real-world, hands-on learning:

📸 Adobe Academy: Canon camera training & design scavenger hunt

🩺 Health Science I: Anatomical terms lab

🐑 Animal Science: Hands-on work with sheep

🏗️ STEM Engineering: 3x5 paper tower height challenge
