The Smartatorium: one-on-one tutoring

We're back to our academic year schedule! Sundays through Thursdays!

All math, science, foreign languages, ACT and SAT prep-- ready to go!

The Smartatorium will be open for the duration; right now, we're adopting the same patient/client protocol as our dentist neighbors upstairs: no fever in the last 2 weeks, no active cough etc., no recent travel to hotspots, and no one who lives with someone who is quarantined or awaiting test results.

We will probably be moving to online tutoring via Skype/Facetime/etc., and maybe sooner rather than later. But we are open to help you with your online learning!

And for the college kids, we can help you with almost all of those 100- and 200-level courses, and probably some of the higher level courses, too (call and ask).

Our super awesome assistant director Sarah Craddock has been distributing our pamphlets, pencils, and business cards to all the local high schools! Ask for our materials from your guidance counselors.

We're innovating over at the Smartatorium!

We're offering two kinds of tutoring this fall: the same one-on-one intensive tutoring/homework shepherding/study skills sessions we've been offering all along ($50/hr), and something new-- a two-hour "study hall" ($25/2-hr block), where the kids can come in for a 2-hour block, sit in a study cubby, and do their work and ask the occasional question.

At the beginning of the two hours, we'd sit down with them and help them organize/decide what they wanted to accomplish in their two hours, and at the end, we'd go over what they did and help them make a plan for anything more they might need to get done. They could ask the occasional question during their study hall session, but we would have to limit it to 15-30 minutes of direct tutoring, otherwise we would need to convert it to an actual tutoring session at the regular hourly tutoring rate.

SOOOO, if your kid doesn't need that much direct help, but needs a quiet place to sit and get things organized and accomplished, please give us call. We're open Sundays-Thursdays, 1pm through 8 or 9pm.
