The scholarship is open to aspiring professional communicators -- high school seniors living in an eight-county area surrounding Mobile, Alabama, or current college students from the Mobile area. Registration is open for the John M. Will Memorial Journalism Scholarship. At least one winner will be chosen and can receive as much as $5,000. Deadline is March 19, 2019.
To be eligible:
Students must be residents of Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, Clarke, Conecuh, Washington or Monroe County, Alabama; Santa Rosa or Escambia County, Florida; Jackson or George County, Mississippi.
Students must be: (1) a senior in high school who will be enrolled full time at an accredited college or university in a course of study that relates to journalism (2) In college pursuing a career in journalism or a related field such as strategic communication.
