Second-year medical student Isabella Elortegui represented the Whiddon College of Medicine on a national stage this spring, earning top honors at the American College of Physicians’ Internal Medicine Meeting 2026 for a clinical case study highlighting a rare neurological complication of pregnancy. Isabella won the medical student section for clinical vignettes during the conference, held April 18 in San Francisco. 👏

Please join me in congratulating IB Junior, Douglas Chestang, for earning third place in the Mobile Bar Association’s annual Law Day Essay contest! There were over 100 essay submissions this year (a record!), making Douglas’ achievement even more outstanding.
Douglas wins a cash prize and will be honored at Mobile Bar Association’s luncheon at the Battle House Hotel this Friday, May 15th!
