Kirsten’s Chicken Workshops

Kirsten’s Chicken Workshops Using our chickens, teach yourself how to really see behavior and improve your training success For more information visit https://www.mychickenworkshops.com/

If you want to master the secrets of changing animal behavior quickly, easily, and precisely, You need to train a chicken. Chickens are the perfect models to teach animal trainers working with any species the principles and practices of Operant Conditioning because they are simple but not easy. And here's the big secret: The only behavior you really have the power to change is your own. Chickens

move a lot giving you lots of repetitions to make mistakes and learn from them. They can serve as a mirror to what you the trainer are doing giving you lots of opportunities to improve your mechanical skills. Training chickens unlocks a new level of changing behavior within yourself. I am Kirsten Kraljevic and my chicken workshops are just the latest iteration of using chickens as a teaching model started by pioneers of innovation in modern-day animal training. I'm committed to keeping their work alive for the next generation of innovators.

I am honored to share our newest episode of the Precision Animal Training Podcast—an extraordinary conversation with Ken Ramirez.
Ken’s career has spanned zoological training, conservation, education, and decades of mentoring trainers around the world. In this interview, Ken joins Dr. Bob Bailey and me to reflect on the people, ideas, and pivotal experiences that shaped his remarkable journey—including Karen Pryor’s influence and the evolution of clicker training.

Our goal with this podcast is to preserve the oral history of modern animal training while the people who helped build it are still here to tell their stories. These conversations capture more than techniques. They preserve the friendships, lessons, challenges, and moments of discovery behind the science we practice today.

Whether you are an experienced professional or just beginning your training journey, I hope you will listen, share, and help us introduce a new generation of trainers to the people whose work made so much of what we do possible.
