Pace!

The pace of operations must be controlled!

This begins with approaching the scene.

When you’re not first due, approaching the command post and receiving an assignment so that you fit into the operation.

“Hey Chief , Engine 3s here, what can we do for you?” goes a long way and also ensures that you operate within the overall plan.

Things as simple as the pace of the hoseline advancement have a huge impact.

When the advancement of the line is not occurring at the proper pace, the line does not get into operation in line with the timing that the search team is expecting.

When the advancement of the line is occurring to fat we tend to get ourselves into trouble, for example passing fire, this then can create even greater problems for everybody.

We just operate within the pace of the operation!
