Luke's extensive list of programs includes the area's only college preparatory Biomedical Health Sciences Program, Robotics, Engineering and Architecture electives, as well as drama, band, strings, choral and art classes. High-achieving students who wish to earn advance college credits may enroll in the University of Alabama Dual Credit Early College Acceptance Program. Luke's graduates have received scholarships to compete athletically at the collegiate level. We offer the area's largest competitive sports program (K3-12th grade) with more than 75% of students participating in athletics during the school year.

The University Campus was packed with Wildcat spirit last week for our first official pep rally of the school year! From the red and black to the cheers, games, music, and plenty of excitement, our Wildcats brought the ENERGY as we got fired up for the first home football game of the season!

There’s nothing better than seeing our students come together to support one another, celebrate our school, and show what it means to be a Wildcat.

Last week, our St. Luke’s seniors visited the Japonica Campus for a special Honor Pledge Assembly, helping our youngest Wildcats understand what it means to live with integrity, respect, and responsibility.

At St. Luke’s, our Honor Code goes far beyond academic honesty. It teaches students the importance of trustworthiness, fairness, respect for others, and doing what is right - qualities we strive to instill from the earliest years and carry through graduation.

Following the assembly, our seniors visited classrooms and assisted as Japonica students signed their own Honor Pledges. It was a meaningful opportunity for our oldest Wildcats to lead by example and reinforce the values that connect our students across every grade level.

From our youngest Wildcats to our senior leaders, honor is part of who we are.

This week, St. Luke’s students came together for our annual Honor Pledge assemblies on both campuses - an important tradition that reflects who we are as a school community.

At St. Luke’s, our Honor Code goes beyond academic honesty. It calls our Wildcats to conduct themselves with integrity, respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, and fairness - qualities that help shape strong students, leaders, and citizens.

During the University Campus assembly, our 2026-2027 Honor Council members and seniors led by example, signing the Honor Pledge together before the remaining students returned to their homerooms to make the same commitment:

“As a St. Luke’s student, I will never lie, cheat, steal, intend to deceive, nor tolerate any of these acts.”

We are proud of our students for reaffirming their commitment to uphold the values and standards that help make St. Luke’s such a special community.

Congratulations to Emma Kate Frazier and Millie Wilson on earning impressive national recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)!

Emma Kate Frazier has been named to the AVCA Phenom Watch List and Millie Wilson has been named to the 2026 AVCA Girls High School All-America Watch List.

These are huge honors and a testament to the talent, dedication, and hard work these Wildcats bring to the court. We are incredibly proud to see Emma Kate and Millie representing St. Luke’s on the national stage!

Our Interventions in Biomedical Science students stepped into the world of surgical skills by using their own shoelaces to practice surgical knot tying.

Using a visual mnemonic from Dr. Christopher Morosky of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, students practiced the hand movements and technique used to create secure surgical knots. They also discovered that meaningful clinical practice can begin with simple, everyday materials found at home. Repetition creates muscle memory, which is foundational for developing clinical skills.

Our goal is exposure over mastery. These early experiences build confidence, curiosity, and fundamental skills. Several St. Luke’s Biomedical alumni have shared that skills labs like these gave them a valuable head start over their peers in college.

Before the school year began, St. Luke’s faculty and staff gathered together for our annual Back-to-School Chapel - a special tradition that allows us to begin the year united in faith and purpose.

Together, we prayed for the school year ahead, for our students and families, and for the faculty and staff who will teach, guide, encourage, and care for our Wildcats each day.

There is no better way to begin a new school year than together - grounded in faith, grateful for our St. Luke’s community, and excited for all that lies ahead.

Before school began, our faculty and staff were already learning, growing, and preparing for the year ahead! St. Luke’s faculty and staff had the opportunity to learn from professor, author, and educator John Spencer during his workshop, “How Will We Respond to the AI Revolution?”
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape education and the world our students will enter, the workshop challenged our educators to think intentionally about how we can embrace innovation while prioritizing creativity, critical thinking, curiosity, and meaningful learning.
At St. Luke’s, preparing students for the future means our educators are always learning, too.
