ππ¨ Literacy met creativity at Literacy Launchpad Camp! πΎπ
Students at Chickasaw Elementary learned about the iconic Blue Dog of Louisiana artist George Rodrigue with Dr. Paige Vitulli and explored how art can tell stories, communicate emotions, and inspire imagination. Through discussion, observation, and artistic expression, campers connected literacy skills with creativity in meaningful ways.

A HUGE thank you to Dr. Szatkowski for modeling a literacy lesson for the teachers at Literacy Launchpad Camp! Her knowledge, expertise, and passion for teaching provided valuable support as educators continue refining their instructional practices and creating engaging learning experiences for students.
Through her interactive lesson and thoughtful guidance, teachers explored effective strategies for increasing student engagement, strengthening literacy skills, and supporting meaningful learning for every child. We are so grateful for the opportunity to learn from such an outstanding educator! π

ππ Day Two of Literacy Launchpad Camp was a huge success at Chickasaw City Schools!
Campers jumped into hands-on reading, writing, and math activities, discovering that building essential skills can be both engaging and fun. Through interactive lessons and creative challenges, students are strengthening their comprehension, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities while growing in confidence each day.
The excitement, enthusiasm, and love of learning were on full display as our young learners continued their summer journey. We can't wait to see what they accomplish next!

What better way to celebrate World Ocean Day than with rising fifth and sixth graders at Beach BRAIN! Campers visited Lake Shelby today and learned about plankton! Campers also used fractions to play Wipe Out and engaged in weather forensics :)

Throughout camp, students will honor the past, celebrate the present, and look toward the future as they explore the people, stories, and events that have shaped our country.
Campers will read and write about American history while learning about individuals who have made a positive impact on their communities and our nation through literature, public service, healthcare, innovation, and more. From authors and inventors to those who have protected our freedoms and improved our quality of life, students will discover the many ways Americans have helped shape the world around us.
It's going to be a summer filled with learning, creativity, and celebration!

π Literacy Launchpad Takes Off at Chickasaw Elementary! πβπ’
Literacy Launchpad is off to an amazing start at Chickasaw Elementary! Our first day of camp was filled with smiles, learning, and plenty of excitement as students launched into a summer of discovery and growth.
One highlight of the day was seeing math and literacy come together through our innovative co-teaching model. By blending numbers and words, teachers created engaging learning experiences that encouraged every student to participate, contribute, and shine. β¨
From solving problems to sharing ideas, students began their summer learning journey with enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity. We are excited to watch them continue to grow throughout the weeks ahead!
