If you have not received emails from me regarding Phi Gamma Chi alumni activities, or Murphy High School Class of 1959, please send your personal info, incl. email address and year you graduated (for Phi Gamma)to me at [email protected]. Talk to others and have them do the same.

The Class of ‘59 meets on the last Friday of each month except November and December.

Phi Gamma Chi alumni enjoy a Spring Luncheon each year, usually in March.
We have a couple of spots open on the Committee, if you’re interested.

What a great day at Spring Hill Baptist today! Our annual Phi Gamma Chi Spring Luncheon was today, and it was so nice. There were 50 of us! A fabulous group of beautiful ladies having a ball catching up! Look at the photos.

Committee has been hard at work getting things ready for the Spring Luncheon. We met today at the church.

PLEASE NOTE that the location is moved to the Dining Hall across the street in the church. There will be signs placed to show you where to park in back of the building.

PLEASE READ:

Change of place. Not Activity Center. Across the street at main SHBC Church. Turn off McGregor by library. Park at back parking lot looking at SpringHill College soccer field. Walk up either sidewalks to Courtyard with fountain.
Double doors coming in to church. Elevator on left. Get on & push dining hall. You will be going down. Opposite door on elevator will open. When you get off, a foyer to sign in.
Then move to tables in dining hall.

Sincere condolences to Anita Watler Winn ‘58 as she mourns the passing of her husband, Donald Haight Winn, following a period of illness.

Donald Haight Winn passed from this world on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 after a brief illness. With him were his wife of 65 years, Anita, and his sister, Linda.

He was: a husband, a father, a lifelong Mobilian, a man of faith, a lifelong member of Government Street Presbyterian church, a voracious reader, an amateur athlete, a sports enthusiast, a soldier, a music lover, a citizen, a gentle soul who paid attention to the world around him and regarded it with interest, curiosity and concern.

He will be missed by his wife, his two sons, David and Michael, his brothers and sisters and cousins, and all who had the good fortune to know him.

A memorial service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, February 11th at Government Street Presbyterian Church located at 300 Government Street in downtown Mobile, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Government Street Presbyterian Church.

Sadly I let you know of the passing of our friend and sister Bernadette Stone Clements Sims. What a lovely lady. She attended some of our spring luncheons and contributed to our silent auction some of her paintings. She was a wonderful artist.

A brilliantly talented dancer, she had her own studio for years and was highly regarded. See her many rewards and places she served in the obituary below.

We send our heartfelt sympathy to her family.
