Friends and Families in Fellowship Sunday School

Happy Sunday! Next Sunday, May 7th, is Healthy Breakfast Sunday! We will also be collecting a love offering to help purchase non-perishable food items for students at Griggs Elementary. Thankfully, the school system provides breakfast and lunch for all students at Griggs. However, there are many students at Griggs who live in situations where food is not readily available to them outside of school hours. For those of us blessed with an abundance of all the things we could ever need, it is hard to imagine that there are children who still have to do without the basic necessities, but those children do exist. Through our giving, we can provide those students with food items they can easily open, heat up in the microwave, and/or eat with little/no supervision. We had initially considered purchasing food to donate, however, the church is able to work with the Bay Area Food Bank to get food items at a very discounted price. They can help stretch our dollars and feed more people. Please consider giving. Every little bit helps!

Hey guys! This is just a reminder that we are having to change the date for feeding the preschool workers. I’ll update you as soon as Karen Foster gives me a new date.

Also, while you are out today, run by the ATM and get some cash to purchase a meal to help out Mike and Stacie Greene. Pick up is next Saturday. Plates are $10 each! I heard through the grapevine that Rita Broome is making some of her famous pound cakes. That, by itself, is worth $10 a slice. 🙂

Don’t forget: Saturday morning 10:00 at the first place. We will be having our 1st annual Christmas brunch. We will play dirty Santa and ask that you stay around the $10 limit.
