We’re proud to celebrate Celsey Sheridan, who was selected as Baker High School’s Hornet of the Week for the Junior Class!

Celsey was recognized for her hard work, leadership, and positive attitude. We love seeing our students recognized for the effort they put in both inside and outside the classroom.

Great news from Mobile County Public Schools!

MCPSS recently announced that 369 students earned recognition as AP Scholars this year, a 26% increase from 293 students in 2025.

AP Scholars earn scores of 3 or higher on at least three Advanced Placement exams.

We love seeing Mobile County students challenge themselves academically and take advantage of opportunities that can prepare them for college and beyond.

The first-day excitement may be over, but now the real work begins.
Week two is a great time for students and parents to check in:

Are assignments being completed on time?
Are we asking questions when something is unclear?
Are we building a routine for homework and studying?
Are we checking grades before there is a problem?

Education 4 Life is cheering on our students as they settle into the 2026-2027 school year!

Twenty-nine MCPSS Class of 2026 graduates recently completed Bishop State Community College’s eight-week “All Hands on Deck” Bootcamp, which offered hands-on training in maritime pipefitting, welding, PPE, 3D metal printing and more. After graduating from the program this week, they then walked straight into a room filled with industry partners ready to hire.

A Prayer for the New School Year

Heavenly Father,
As our students return to school this week, we ask You to cover them, guide them, and protect them. Give them confidence when things feel difficult, wisdom when they face decisions, and courage to keep trying when they struggle.

Bless their minds with focus and understanding. Help them recognize their gifts and believe in what they are capable of becoming.

Protect them as they travel to and from school. Surround them with teachers, mentors, friends, and leaders who will encourage them and help them grow. Give our teachers, school staff, tutors, and parents patience, wisdom, and strength as they support our children throughout this school year.

For every student walking into a new classroom, a new grade, or a new chapter, remind them that one difficult day does not define their future.

May this school year bring growth, opportunity, safety, and success.

We pray for a strong and successful 2026-2027 school year for every student.

A backpack is more than a bag. It’s a fresh start, new opportunities, and a student walking into the school year ready to learn.

A heartfelt thank you to The Order of Olympia for their generous donation of school supplies to help equip our students for a successful school year. We are especially grateful to Billy Rae Nelson for helping make this contribution possible.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Delta Home Inspection for once again donating backpacks for our students. Your continued support means so much to the families we serve. Thank you, Julian Wiik, for standing with Education 4 Life year after year.
