Amanda Richardson, K-8 Science Specialist, spent 3 days at our affiliate Legacy’s Beach Ecology session; Legacy and Gulf State Park Learning Campus provided a top-notch learning experience.
Participants experienced dissecting squid, writing with its pen and ink sac, building and setting track tubes for monitoring endangered beach mouse populations, collecting shells to enhance learning about biodiversity at our beaches, studying the history of our state regarding the vast riches of fossils found in Alabama, sea turtle nesting and protection, the innovative ways Gulf State Park designed eco friendly buildings and infrastructure at their facilities and SO much more. 10 out 10 recommend Legacy Educator Expeditions.

This year Region 10 participated in a book study on Disney U by Doug Lipp. Our culminating session was Friday, May 22. The staff went all in with their attire, ears and even had a Main Street Confectionery “make your own popcorn!” We were treated to lunch as well! The book was a wonderful way to explore the training and cultural philosophies that create highly engaged and loyal employees!
