Yesterday, our Baker High School Early Childhood Education Academy students had the opportunity to participate in their first field experience of the school year at Gilliard Elementary School! Our students stepped outside of the classroom and into a real elementary school setting, where they were able to observe teachers, interact with students, and see early childhood education in action. Experiences like this allow our future educators to connect what they are learning in class to real-world teaching and learning. A huge THANK YOU to Gilliard Elementary for welcoming our students and partnering with the Baker High School ECE Academy. We truly appreciate the opportunity you are providing for our future educators.

Our Anatomy & Physiology students wrapped up an exciting anthropometry lab, measuring everything from wingspan and femur length to cranial proportions. Turns out, we are all built a little differently, but the human proportions never stop amazing us!

Great job to everyone collecting real-world data and putting your measurement skills to the test! Who knew math and anatomy went hand in hand?

Mrs. Earheart’s Patient Care Technician students had a great time reinforcing their knowledge of body planes, directional terms, and body cavities! Students worked in teams to see who could correctly identify and label anatomical structures the fastest using proper medical terminology.

Through this hands-on challenge, students strengthened their medical terminology skills, critical thinking, and collaboration with their classmates! Great job, PCT students! Keep up the great work!
