Interview invitations for our Class of 2028 have been distributed via email!

Good luck to those of you that were identified for interview and for those that weren’t we really appreciate your interest in our profession and program! I ask that you keep working towards your goals! There is a place at the table for you when the time is right.

Invitations to interview for the School of Nurse Anesthesia Class of 2028 will be distributed later this week! Keep an eye on your primary email as we distribute our invitations.

🚨🚨🚨BREAKING AND AMAZING NEWS!!🚨🚨🚨

We are beyond proud to announce that our first School of Nurse Anesthesia cohort, the inaugural Class of 2024, earned a 100% FIRST TIME PASS RATE on the National Certification Examination!

The national first-time pass rate for this exam is 83% and having an entire class pass the on the first attempt is rare - to be the first cohort from a new program to achieve this is even more special!

Thank you, Class of 2024, for all of your work! You are now Certified Registered Nurse Ramnesthetists!!

More photos coming, but I’m so incredibly proud of my team - THE FIRST EVER DNAP GRADUATES IN ALABAMA - that I had to post a quick shot!

The very first University of Mobile graduation project had been completed and disseminated! We are so very proud of this group of future leaders: Alexandra Brock, AC Gaines, Morgan Harlan, and Molly Lane.

Their project, “Preoperative Point-of-Care Gastric Ultrasound in Patients Receiving Glucose-like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonist Therapy”, investigated the gastric volume present in surgical patients prior to induction of anesthesia. By identifying the increased gastric volume present among patients taking newer diabetes and weight loss agents like Ozempic and Mounjaro, our students have contributed to spirit of safety in the perioperative phase. With measurement of inappropriate gastric volume in the patients, CRNAs can make adjustments to anesthesia care for their patients, minimizing anesthesia-related risk.

So let’s celebrate the work of Alexandra, AC, Molly, and Morgan! They are one step closer to ending their !
