A Note from the Counselor Suite…

Scholars and Parents:

We hope that you all are healthy and emotionally sound. As we press to complete the school year, we want to encourage you to finish strong. Our entire school staff is working hard to ensure that you have academic and emotional support. You should expect phone calls and emails from teachers, counselors, and administrators. Please be proactive and don’t procrastinate! We recommend that you:

- Check our school website for news and updates.
- Read and respond to your emails daily.
- Check into Google Classroom every day for class
announcements, lessons, and assignments.
- Log into Apex and continue to complete assigned units.
Close out your courses to earn credit. Remember to take
notes!
- Email your teachers for support and access to any locked
tests or quizzes.
- Collaborate with your peers to study together and stay on
track.

Advocate Counselors are also available to assist you. Ms. Wilder and Ms. Pippins will be checking in for progress reviews. You are welcome to send emails regarding all things counseling. Expect phone calls and emails from us. We will complete academic advising and discus your Student Success Plan with you between now and the end of the school year.

We set up a Virtual Counseling Suite via Google Sites. A wealth of information and resources was posted to the site with the intention of providing that counselor suite feel from campus. The information posted on the Virtual Counselor Suite was influenced by questions that many of you typically ask on campus. We added college/career planning, information about financial aid, breathing exercises for de-stressing, study skills, music, and virtual college tours. Scholars are welcome to send Ms. Wilder suggestions for the Virtual Counselor Suite. Feel free to send pictures of yourself working on assignments, good news regarding college acceptance, or tips/message for fellow scholars. The goal is to stay engaged, connected, future focused, and healthy!

Don’t forget to send Mrs. Pippins and Ms. Wilder questions using your ACCEL student email. In addition, respond to our emails and answer your phone when we call. The ACCEL Virtual Counselor Suite is here for you!

Where have all the scholars gone?... Cyberspace!

ACCEL Day & Evening Academy has gone virtual. Due to Covid-19, campus is closed. However, classes are in session and the counselor suite is still open! Teachers are still teaching and Advocate Counselors are still assisting students with all things counseling/academic advisement. You don't need a hall pass; just check the ACCEL Virtual Counselor Suite for updates and student resources. We're here to help our scholars:
