Nurses are educators, too!

Nursing is about so much more than what happens in a hospital or clinic—and our future nurses got to put their teaching skills into action at the Macon County Health Department’s School Health & Safety Fair!

MACC Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) students presented area 2nd graders with important lessons on bullying & internet safety, mental health, hydration, first aid & animal bites, ATV & bicycle safety, medication safety and more! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

It was a fun break from the classroom and clinicals—and a great reminder that patient education and community health are an important part of being a nurse.

Our future nurses are learning, teaching and making a difference—and they’re moving quickly toward December graduation!

Each year the Mexico Practical Nursing students participate in a Mock Mass Casualty event put on at the Mexico campus. This year the event was organized by PN Instructor Micheal Coats and Lindsay Jordan. We would like to thank each MACC Staff that assisted and played a role. You each made a big difference in this event and as always made this day unfrogettable!
