We are looking for passionate educators to join our team as First Year Naturalist Educators next March! First Year Naturalist Educator positions are paid and include housing in Moab, Utah.

The First Year Naturalist Educator training program is a paid professional development program for outdoor educators beginning their career of connecting people to, and fostering care for, the natural environment. The position focuses on facilitating land-based programming for school and youth groups at our Professor Valley Field Camp and multi-day river trips on the Green, Colorado, and San Juan rivers. The First Year Naturalist Educator position is an entry point to CFI’s Outdoor Educator and Leadership Development program. This position includes opportunities for advancement and training relevant to careers in recreation and outdoor education.

The beauty and sounds from the are still resonating in our hearts this week. One of our naturalist educators snapped this picture during one of the music hikes, and we had to share. The connection to the landscape and each other are a part of what makes the Moab Music Festival so special.

We feel so privileged to be a part such a lovely and fulfilling event. Our gratitude to the Moab Music Festival team, patrons and each person who makes this event possible.

We can’t wait to celebrate public lands day with all of you!

This is what a National Public Lands Day Celebration looks like in Moab. 🌎

Public land staff, local organizations, live music, activities, and a whole lot of people coming together to celebrate the places that connect our community.

We’re doing it all again this Thursday at the Moab Information Center! This year’s celebration is bringing together an incredible lineup of public land agencies and community organizations, plus live music from Tim + Richard, Moab Mobile Art Cart, treats from La Michoacana, family-friendly activities, free swag, and more.

Come say hi, meet the people working across our public lands and community, and spend an evening with us!

NOW HIRING: Join Canyonlands Field Institute as our new Development Director!

We are looking for a collaborative, energetic leader to serve as our Development Director. Based out of Moab, Utah, this position oversees all aspects of development for CFI, including grant writing, strategic planning, donor relationship management, and fundraising. To offset the costs of program participation for schools and families, CFI has ambitious fundraising goals to support free and low-cost programming, and our Development Director will help us get there!

It's almost fall, y'all!

We are so excited to start the fall season and spend time with our awesome fall schools and trip participants. The team at Canyonlands Field Institute is preparing Professor Valley Field Camp, doing some refresher training, and getting supplies, plans and lessons ready!
